Small format, high impact: the pack that has to earn an impulse buy in two seconds.
Treat packs are sold on shelf appeal and bought in small quantities, so the format has to do more visual work per gram than bulk kibble. Registered matte, soft-touch and spot-gloss finishes all raise perceived value on a pack this size.
Function matters too. Treat pouches are opened far more often per gram of product, so a reliable resealable closure and a clean tear notch carry more weight here than on a 10 kg bag.

Yes — same size and material can be split across different artwork under one MOQ, which is how most treat brands launch a range.
Registered matte with spot gloss on the logo. It reads as expensive because the contrast is deliberate rather than uniform.
At 100 g and above they usually should. Below that a tear notch and a press-to-close strip are often enough.
