Design for recyclability, PFAS-free materials, and the paperwork to support what you print.
Sustainability in pet food packaging is now a design problem with a paper trail attached. Retailers ask for it in vendor guides, several US states regulate it, and the EU PPWR makes recyclability a design requirement rather than a marketing choice.
We start from the material direction: mono-material where the product allows, PFAS-free grease resistance where paper is involved, and film-gauge reduction where barrier is already sufficient. Every claim we enable comes with the documentation behind it.
| Recyclable direction | Mono-PE, mono-PP, PP-based closures |
| PFAS status | Fluorine-free options on paper and coated structures |
| Documentation | CoC, migration and heavy-metal test reports |
| MOQ | 500 pcs (digital print) / 20,000 pcs (gravure) |
| Lead time | 15–25 days after artwork approval |
| Samples | Free stock samples; pre-production samples before the run |
Only when the structure and the disposal route are verified for the market you sell into. We provide the documentation; the claim still has to clear your retailer and the local rules.
For most pet food, recyclable — because the recycling stream is far more widely available than industrial composting. Compostable wins for treats and short-life products.
Usually a little, and it depends heavily on volume. Mono-material often saves on material but costs on barrier, while PFAS-free paper has narrowed to near parity. We quote both routes side by side.
